Kerala Governor MOH Farook died

Governor of Kerala Mr. MOH Farook  passed away just while ago at Chennai. He was 75 & was under treatment at Appolo hospital Chennai, he died at 9.20 pm on Thursday. He was appointed as Governor of Kerala on 25 August 2011. Farook was born at Karaikal in Pondicherry on September 6, 1937. He was a 3 time Chief Minister of Pondichery, also elected thrice to the Lok Sabha from Pondicherry & served as the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism. He was appointed as the Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in September 2004.

Farrok participated in the struggle for liberation of Pondicherry as a student during 1953-54, when Pondicherry was a French colony and served as a Member of the Central Haj Committee in Mumbai from 1975 to 2000.

  • Kerala Government declared public holiday tomorrow in the state for Govt. offices and Educational institutions.
  • Kerala government also declared a 7  day statewide mourning as a mark of respect to Governor MOH Farook.
  • PSC cancelled all exams and interviews scheduled today, new dates will be informed later.
  • Kerala University cancelled all the exams scheduled for today.
  • Kerala State Lottery draw scheduled today has been postponed to Saturday
